These are the most common questions that our customers ask us before purchasing our products. We also realize that the information out there can be both confusing and hard to sort though, so we decided to build this guide for all the Tesla owners to help you on choosing the best wheel/tire, spacers, and lowering setups.

The comprehensive guide below will help you understand what fits, what doesn’t, and how different wheel / lowering setups would look on your Tesla!

COILOVERS

Our SIXTH ELEMENT Coilovers are a great upgrade to add to your Tesla which allows you to adjust your ride height and come in many setups, from daily use to full track rated. Unlike lowering springs, you are not stuck with a single height and stiffness. From a performance standpoint, coilovers truly improve ride quality. And, not just slightly – but quite noticeably.

As many of our customers ask: "Why does lowering have a significant effect on the static position of the wheels within the fenders?” And that’s a great question! Model 3's use a front A-Arm suspension which many of you are familiar with. As you lower or lift the vehicle, the A-Arm geometry shifts up or down and effectively moves the wheels inboard. This creates more clearance between the wheel/tire and fender. (See Figure)

WHEELS

Our SIXTH ELEMENT Forged wheels offer several advantages. For starters, they are about 3x stronger than your OEM conventional cast wheels and are 25% lighter. Our wheels also offer an exceptional strength to weight ratio and are VIA & JWL safety certified. This is important if performance is your thing. All of SIXTH ELEMENT wheels are made of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum, fully Forged, with offsets made specifically for each Tesla model to ensure the best fitment possible.

WHEEL SPACERS

Since you cannot increase the width of a factory wheel, with our SIXTH ELEMENT spacers, you will be able to change the offset of your stock Model 3 wheels. Spacers are considered the most affordable way to achieve a more “flush fitment” on your Tesla without replacing your OEM wheels.

For Model 3's and Model Y's, our team reccomends anything between a 15-25mm spacers front and rear. 15mm will be better suited to a stock height and 20-25mm will be recommended for a lowered Model 3's and Model Y's.

 


MODEL 3 COMPREHENSIVE WHEEL FITMENT GUIDE

STOCK 18" & 19" WHEELS + SPACERS:
